Alice Walton Member of New York Historical Society
4 February 2010Alice Walton is the president of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, which is a leading venue for a national art establishment devoted to America’s most notable artists and their masterpieces. As of now the museum is being hailed as one of the most notable places to view America through the vision of the country’s greatest artists.
Alice Walton is the daughter of the late Walton couple, Helen and Sam Walton, founders of Wal-Mart. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance at Trinity College, in San Antonio, Texas.
In addition to her philanthropic activities and her work as a board member of the Walton Family Foundation, Alice Walton has been a dynamic and important member of the following institutes:
- Board member of the Trustees’ Council of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.
- One of the Board of Advisors in the University of Arkansas Graduate Business School, Fayetteville.
- Board member of the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, Texas.
- Board member of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock.
Alice Walton is among of five notable personalities who were selected as a member of The New-York Historical Society on the 14th of January 2008.
